The Andhyodaya

          Sustainable development today is possible only through people in the community; in fact the community itself. Empower the communities and they will bring development to the region, the state and to the country at large. With this aim in mind, a group of people with like-minded philosophy gathered together and formed a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in the year 1990 - The Andhyodaya. The Organisation is registered under the Travancore Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Act XII of 1955, as Reg.No. ER. 1555/90 with Rev. Fr. Joseph Andissery as its Director and Shri. Peter Thettayil as its Executive Director. Unlike other NGO’s, our organisation decided to concentrate in four areas of development activities namely the Non-conventional Energy Promotion, Environment Sanitation with emphasis on Water Management, Farmers Self Help Groups and Low cost building Technology. The organisation is undertaking projects and programmes related to these areas of community development.

          To be a center par excellence in rendering social development and harmony focusing on conserving energy, managing water and preserving enviornment through appropriate alternatives and technologies.

       To initiate innovative interventions, utilizing appropriate technologies and the ultimate aim of sustaining development and ecological equilibrium.

          In order to concentrate on carbon trading and implementation of large scale Green Projects a company was instituted in the year 2008. The company    is now undertaking Carbon Credit Programme, large scale biogas plants for generation of eletricity, large size solar projects  etc.
